For me, Brightcast is more than just a great game- it’s a reflection of the most meaningful moments I had as a child.

Growing up in a working-class family, life was anything but easy. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for my three siblings and I. My father, a grocer by trade, carried an incredible weight—long hard hours working and the constant stress of providing for our busy household.

For him, games became a form of escape. They allowed him to temporarily set aside the burdens of daily life and enjoy some time. For me, I’ll always remember when he invited me to join him at the gaming table. It wasn’t just about teaching me the rules; it was about sharing something he loved.

At that table, he wasn’t a struggling parent. He was a teacher, a strategist, and, most importantly, a companion. Through those games, he introduced me to the thrill of competition, the art of strategy, and the power of storytelling. But more than anything, he gave me his time—a rare and precious thing that I still cherish.

I realize how those moments were a bridge—one that connected us in ways we otherwise struggled to find. Even amid his busy and stressful life, my dad found a way, through gaming, to show me I mattered.

When I started creating Brightcast, those memories were my guide. I didn’t just want to make an amazing game; I wanted to create something that could help other parents and kids connect how my father and I did in those moments. I know how much kids long for those moments of undivided attention, and I know how hard it can be for parents to find the time.

Brightcast is my way of giving back, of honoring my dad and the lessons he taught me. If this game helps even one child find that connection with their parents, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. Because just like the game itself, those connections are deceptively simple but secretly deep.
